Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with gradual development of photovoltaic cells from very beginnings to the present modern photovoltaic cells. The thesis contains a description of sunshine, options of gaining solar energy and methods of measuring of sunshine. Further here is a division of cells to individual generations according to used material, materials and physical principles of commercially available photovoltaic cells. This is followed by development, principles and options use new types of solar photovoltaic cells. The part of the thesis is also practical experiment, which is focused on measuring and comparison of two types of commercially available photovoltaic cells. There is a summary of achieved results and knowledges in this thesis.
