JANÁČKŮV DVŮR V HUKVALDECH

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to create an architectural study of the former farm and yard situated in the centre of the Lachian village of Hukvaldy. The study is based on a broader urbanistic point of view which strives to design not only the immediate proximity of the farmyard in the community but also the wider area. The task of the work is to connect the cultural and natural potential of the surrounding countryside and the immediate adjacent area of the farmyard. The details of the architectural study look into possibilities of replenishing the material of existing buildings as well as into preparing conditions for constructing new purpose built cultural and social premises. On the level of a diploma case study the compound will thus be designed so that it may serve to revive the centre of the village as well as create cultural facilities both for the inhabitants of the village and for visitors from the wider region. Reconstructed Janacek‘s Courtyard could boost interest not only among visitors from the neighbouring area but also among visitors of exceptional culture events who are heading to similar destinations every year.
