Abstract

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the issue of intergenerational relationships in the labor market. The thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. In the first chapter, basic theoretical concepts such as culture, generation, and individual generations are defined. The chapter also focuses on the chronological definition of generations according to various authors. The second section of the theoretical part is a review of empirical literature. This part describes the attitudes of cultural generations towards work and employment based on soft skills and qualifications. The next chapter deals with data collection and methodology used for the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The research of work preferences is presented in the sixth chapter. Respondents are divided according to their respective generations, and only the population of Europe is included. Furthermore, differences between generations living in Eastern and Western Europe were examined. The final part of the thesis provides a summary of the overall analysis.
