Abstract
The thesis deals with the evaluation of the quality of governance and corruption in conformity with standards, criteria adopted by EU member countries. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the quality of governance due to the conceptual approach of good governance with a focus on corruption in public administration in selected EU countries. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the democratisation of institutions was explained as the basis for standardising the quality of governance in a European context. The practical part deals with the evaluation of the quality of public administration in the process of the correlation among institutional quality indicators, CPI, WGI, GCI and public expenditure for each year and the average of 2013-2017, including compliance with anti-corruption practice. The results showed the causal connection between the quality of governance and corruption.
