Abstract

This work describes the use of Material slag from iron and steel production. In the beginning I focused on iron and steel production and the generation of waste products - slag. Then I divided the blast furnace slag and steel. Steel slag is divided by type and origin of the primary and secondary metallurgy. Another important division is broken down by physical and chemical aspects. This work deals with the possibility of using slag as a secondary product in the manufacture of iron and steel. Slag is now used in the steel industry - to return to the charge, or for repairing linings of furnaces. Great representation of the slag and in the construction industry - as an artificial aggregate for roads and other supporting documents. The paper proposes amendments slag and subsequent treatment options. Then the paper discusses the use of slag in the binder. Characterizes the latent hydraulic slag, slag hydration and the use of alkali activated slag in connective systems. Are characterized by hydraulic binders, which are activated by certain substances and are activated by water activator. The conclusion is a comparison of blast furnace slag and steel slag, especially in terms of usability.
