Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with software testing as one part of the software development process. The basis for this work has been my student professional experience in Tieto Czech s.r.o. in the period from October to April (school year 2010/2011). I divided my thesis into the 2 parts. The first part deals with theoretical knowledge relating to the testing, such as software process, methods, software development, software error, software specification, testing process and the categories of testing. The second part describes the tools used for testing such as HP Quality Center, IBM Rational Quality Manager, HP Quick Test Professional HP Load Runner, IBM Rational Functional Tester and IBM Rational Performance Tester. For the first two mentioned (HP Quality Center, IBM Rational Quality Manager), I conducted a survey among its users, and tried at least partly to compare their satisfaction with these tools.
