Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on earthmoving equipment used by the Rescue Unit of the Fire
Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (ZÚ HZS ČR). The introductory part describes the
functioning of the Rescue Unit, from its history and organizational structure to its operational
activities. It then provides an overview and description of the individual types of earthmoving
machinery currently used by the unit, including their technical specifications and their specific
roles during emergency operations. Another part of the thesis focuses on the deployment of
earthmoving machinery across the individual dislocation sites of the Rescue Unit. It
subsequently examines statistical data on the deployment of individual machines used during
extraordinary events. In the conclusion, possible options for expanding and modernizing the
current fleet of equipment are proposed, taking into account the operational needs of emergency
response activities.
