Rizikové faktory a bezpečnostní opatření při používání lithiových baterií a jejich mechanickém namáhání

Abstract

The presented thesis addresses the safety aspects of lithium-ion batteries, with a particular focus on their response to mechanical stress. The theoretical part is divided into three sections: the first provides a general overview of lithium battery technology; the second focuses on individual structural components and their influence on cell functionality; and the third analyzes safety-related issues, including failure mechanisms, integrated protective features, fire suppression methods, and combustion by-products. The practical part of the thesis is dedicated to experimental testing of 18650 cells under various forms of mechanical damage. The aim is to identify the key factors influencing the onset of thermal runaway and to assess the risk potential of specific types of mechanical stimuli. ZETEK, Filip.
