Abstract
This thesis describes the complex process of developing a business plan for setting up an online store focusing on smart home sales and service. The thesis begins with a thorough analysis of the internal and external environment to identify trends in the smart home industry and consumer demands that are shaping the market. The competitive environment is examined in detail, identifying opportunities for differentiation and challenges posed by incumbent large companies.
At the heart of the business plan is an in-depth analysis that informs product selection, supply chain management and optimisation of the customer relationship. Then there is the marketing strategy, which describes the selection of marketing tools and platforms. The financial section provides a realistic view of the financial plan in terms of revenues, costs, profitability and also includes a risk assessment to ensure the resilience of the company. The resulting business plan helps the aspiring entrepreneur to enter the smart home market and provides useful and necessary knowledge, a structured pathway for starting an online store and thus presents the potential of the business venture in the e-commerce sector.
