Geochemie hornin zlatohorského rudního revíru

Abstract

The work compares published results on the chemical and mineralogical composition of various types of rocks in the Zlaté Hory ore district with new data obtained using the methods of X-ray fluorescence and powder X-ray diffraction. The possibility of indicative classification of metamorphic rocks in this area is verified using a hand-held X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. The applicability of this method has been verified with certain limitations related to the problematic determination of the alkali content of the sample. Petrographic descriptions of rocks from historical geological documentation in most cases correspond with descriptions of newly collected samples and the differences are discussed.
