Abstract
This work is aimed on modification of carbon nanotubes. Nitric acid, potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, sulfuric acid and mixture of nitric and sulfuric acid were used as oxidizing agents. The main objective of this work is to covalently functionalize multi-walled carbon nanotubes, their surface and open their ends (with oxidizing agent). These methods were used for characterization of final products: Raman spectroscopy, phase carbon analysis and SEM.
