Abstract

Raster data are often processed in geographic information systems and working with them efficiently is an important requirement. This bachelor thesis investigates the existing capabilities of database systems in terms of operations with raster data. Furthermore, the performance of different database systems for raster data operations is tested and compared. The thesis also includes a web interface designed to support raster data operations in database systems. This thesis provides insights into the capabilities of database systems for working with raster data and provides a basis for further exploration of the possibilities of working with raster data.
