Abstract

The goal of this dimploma thesis is to develop a system to support teaching of the subject of data compression. The created system contains the basic definition of the interface and plug-ins for future system expansion. The system contains the basic plug-ins for teaching and testing basic compression algorithms and techniques needed for data compression - entropy, Shannon-Fano coding, Huffman coding, arithmetic coding, the methods LZ77, RLE and MTF.
