Abstract

This thesis is focused on the transformation of the Czech News Agency, its regulation and economic management of a public institution independent of the state. The reader finds in it, as ČTK transformed from a state agency to public independent media that is completely independent of the state. How it worked in the past and how it works now and how it was transforming itself agency.

The central chapter is devoted to transition agency such changes undergone since its inception, with detailed focus on the transformation of ČTK after 1989. A reader can read not only the legal legislation, but also the funding agency, the personnel changes, the possible privatization, and the very functioning of mistakes that were part of an actual transformation of state agency to public institution.

The last chapter approaches to a reader the position of the Czech News agency on the market. I describe not only the economic situation of the office, but also its economic changes that had to go through the economic crisis that hit the media market, especially in the years 2009 to 2010.
