This diploma thesis concerns with the communication about hazard, its history and its currently approaches to purpose of protection of population with emphasis to natural origin hazards. Purpose of this diploma thesis is a research of currently approaches of communication about natural hazards in the world, in the Czech Republic and in the chosen area that is, with regard of origin of author, Moravskoslezský kraj. For assessing identified approaches to communication about hazards was chosen SWOT analysis that shows not just positives but also negatives and also deficiencies and possibilities to improve in this area of interest. Conclusion shows proposal for more efficiency communication about chosen natural hazards.
