Abstract
The bachelor's thesis deals with the verification of the mechanical properties of selected concretes that are exposed to elevated temperatures. Special emphasis is placed on the comparison of ordinary concrete with high-quality concrete. The theoretical part describes a brief history of concrete. Furthermore, it is impossible to neglect the main and additional components of concrete and the possibility of testing hardened concrete. Subsequently, the behaviour of concrete during the action of heat and the difference between ordinary and high-quality concrete is described. During the experimental part, compressive strength and tensile strength tests were performed before and after loading at elevated temperature. Furthermore, the experimental part includes colour changes of concrete due to elevated temperatures, the use of the ultrasonic impulse method, determination of resistance to chemical and de-icing substances and finally resistance of concrete to repeated freezing and defrosting.
