Abstract

In the present thesis deals with remediation of coal seam located in the southern slopes of the Jan Šverma open pit mine. Surface working of Jan Šverma mine had to be stopped on the line, based on Gevernment Resolution No. 444 of 1991, which determine the limits for brown coal mining in various localities of the North Bohemian coal region. Left southern slopes, close to village Strupčice, are stable but exposed coal seam does not accomplish the current requirements of state authorities on remediation and reclamation of the mining area after leaving the mining technology. I suggested and considered two variants – soil remediation using technological unit TC-2 or overlaying of the coal seam by soils, which would be exploited by the shovel excavators and using trucks to transport the soils.
