Abstract

This thesis focuses on the protection of the population in case of nuclear accident. The aim of this work in particular was to compare the protection of the population in the Czech Republic and in the world. In the work I also marginally deal with introducing nuclear power plants in our country and in the world and with emergency preparedness issues. Furthermore, the work deals with the process of nuclear accidents and possible consequences on the population and with the implementation of protective measures, associated with it. The main part is focused on the comparison of the results of the study which was processed for the EU on the basis of questionnaires filled in by the Member States of the EU.
