Volnočasové společenské centrum Praha - Holešovice

Abstract

Leisure Community Centre Prague – Holešovice The work will deal with the currently abandoned area in Prague - Holešovice. In history, there have been industrial buildings as well as buildings used for rail transport and storage. Currently, only the west part is used for rail transport. The Bubny railway station is located here, newt to it was created the Memorial of Silence, which commemorates the transport of Jewish residents to concentration camps during the Second World War. The rest of the area is dilapidated and untreated, so it forms a relatively large impassable barrier between Holešovice and Bubny. The design of the newly designed development, including the infrastructure, is based on these circumstances. The development is followed by a newly designed park, which creates space for recreation and leisure activities and also allows access through the area. The aim of the diploma thesis will be the integration of a leisure social center into a newly designed urban structure with a connection to the infrastructure and also to the adjacent park. The adjacent public space, including the building of a listed waterworks, will be also part of the design.
