Abstract

This bachelor thesis compares steady states with a time-varying stock of money and the empirical studies. These empirical studies are showing connection between monetary aggregates and inflation and gross domestic product. In this thesis is compared influence monetary aggregate M1 to GDP and influence monetary aggregate M3 to inflation in Czech economy. At the first, there are calculations, which compare relation between monetary aggregates, inflation a GDP. These calculations are created by Pearson´s correlation coefficient. This coefficient is showing linear dependence relation. Calculations as Granger causality and vector autoregression are showing mutual relation between monetary aggregates, inflation and GDP. Conclusion this thesis is that, monetary aggregate M1 doesn´t influence GDP and monetary aggregate M3 also doesn't influence inflation in Czech economy.
