Abstract

This dissertation focuses on the analysis of sound insulation of simple constructions in terms of comparison and evaluation of theoretical computational models and experimental measurements in-situ. In the first part an experiment was performed, based on measurements of airborne sound insulation of a large amount of the simple masonry separating walls in a multi-storey office building constructed on the basis of a concrete skeleton. Based on the previous experience, relevant standard procedures and the measurements during this work, a detailed methodology for measurement of airborne sound insulation was compiled. The next part was devoted to a careful evaluation of the parameters obtained from the measurements. The evaluation showed the determination of the transmission loss frequency for each construction and the weighted building sound insulation of the considered buildings were determined. Much of the work deals with a detailed description of the available computational methods applicable to the prediction of an airborne sound insulation based on the known input parameters. The measured cases are subjected to four different calculation procedures. The calculation results are compared with the measured values. The experiment in this dissertation quietly proved that the sound insulation of the separating structures in the buildings around us often does not reach the required parameters. Complaints of users of buildings are often justified. Therefore the most common possible causes involved in the formation of such a phenomenon were defined. In the following part a modification of the structure is described. Its proper application meets the requirements for the sound insulation, including the prediction of the final Rw value. To improve the current situation, the precautions aimed at increasing the quality of airborne sound insulation of building structures are proposed in the conclusion.
