Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to select the most suitable account for students in the Czech Republic by using methods of multiple attribute decision making. The student accounts of the most well-known and largest banks in the Czech Republic, Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, ČSOB, Poštovní spořitelna, GE Money bank a Volksbank, have been chosen for evaluation. The weighted sum approach has been used for the selection of the best student account while weights of criteria given by the ranking approach, Fuller´s pairwise comparison method, the credit scoring and Saaty´s pairwise comparison method have been applied. The order of particular variants defined by the weighted sum approach by using various methods for formulation of weights of criteria has not been the same and that is why it has been necessary to determine the order through a compromise solution. According to the fact that the preferences between the methods for formulation of weights of criteria have been unknown, they have been given the same weights. The final order of variants has been determined through a compromise and the weighted sum of the order of each particular variant has been calculated and according to this the most suitable account has been chosen – the ČSOB´s “Studentské konto plus“.
