Mapování lužních lesů v dolním Poohří

Abstract

The present thesis elaborates as well as evaluates both natural and historical proportions of the vegetation along the Ohře River (Eger), the Louny District, NW Bohemia. It is aimed to the mapping of recently known remnants of floodplain forests in comparison to their presummed extension in the past. The main attention is given to a famous locality Loužek near the village Obora, E of Louny. The study is divided into several parts. Introductory one presents a description of conditions having been influential over origin and changes of the riversdide open country vegetation. The second part is a review of natural and ecological characteristics of floodplain forest phenomenon. The third part deals with the development of the Ohře River course and its participation in the formation of surrounding vegetation. A self-reliant chapter brings descriptions of individual localities of floodplain forests known along the river. The amphasis is especially given to the locality Loužek, its historical and natural characteristics, factors of threating etc. The closing chapter brings some recommendations concerning the protection of the described locality.
