Abstract

This diploma thesis describes the design of metainformation system based on INSPIRE directive by using ArcGIS and Bentley Map softwares. Both, the metainformation systems used in Czech Republic and selected international standards for metadata (ISO 19115, ISO 15836 and INSPIRE directive) are described in this work. Creation of metadata records, which are part of a metainformation system for a real business organization, is based on INSPIRE directive, therefore the thesis is more focused on characteristics and elements of INSPIRE directive. This thesis deals not only with the design of a metainformation system, but also with its implementation in a real business company, thus the thesis contains the results of analyses of this business company, its datasets and metadata records. The automated data export from DGN files to SHP files and the possible ways of the access to database Oracle server are described. The main aim of this thesis is to create a project by using Geospatial Administrator in order to create a system in Bentley Map software in the next step. The instructions how to create polygons bounding spatial data by using MicroStation software and how to create, edit and preview metadata records by using Bentley Map are given. The way to distribute metadata is being solved – metadata are exported from ESRI XML files to XML files as users require. The way of vizualization of spatial data by using API application is discussed in the final part of the thesis.
