Abstract

This thesis deals with the characterization of radioactive waste mainly using non-destructive methods of radiological characterization. Represents the currently used techniques and methodologies characterization of radioactive waste and points out the need for a thorough characterization of these materials to ensure effective radiation protection of the population and the environment. Work forms part of the model solution radiological characterization of solid radioactive waste to a concrete example of a possible way to interpret the composition of the individual steps of radiological characterization in terms of legal and regulatory requirements.
