Abstract
This diploma thesis is focused on regional social disparities in Slovakia. In the first part is described the region, its typology and formation. It also focuses on the theory of regional disparities, their decomposition and indicators of social sphere. Indicators are developed for the NUTS III regions. The last section is devoted to social policy in Slovakia.
