Abstract
The presented work describes phenotypic variability of the bacterial genus Pseudomonas focusing on the issue of environmental pollution by metals. The first part discusses the general characteristics of the genus, which is expanded in the next chapter to describe the role of bacteria of genus within the remediation and phytoremediation of metal pollutants, including the characteristics of pollutant metals. The next section describes the methods for detecting phenotypic properties of bacteria and are compared with other methods of identification of microorganisms. In recent theoretical part of this work are characterized in detail bacterial species that were used in the experimental section. The experimental part is focused on maximum tolerance concentration of selected bacterial species isolated from contaminated sites to selected bivalent metal ions.
