Abstract
This thesis addresses the issue of salt mine waters as they negatively affect flora and fauna. He's also looking at ways to deal with them. One possible way is to use phytoremediation processes. The main objective of the thesis, as part of the experiment, was to monitor phytoremediac ability and saline stress of broadleaf orobina (Typha latifolia), to design, build an experiment and to monitor selected parameters such as pH, salinity, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. Chloride and sulphate concentrations were also monitored and analysed in the laboratory. In addition, an initial analysis of sodium and chloride in biomass was carried out in cooperation with the UFC in Dubna, Russia.
