Implementace 802.11r u zařízení Mikrotik

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with roaming technology between access points in wireless networks based on the IEEE 802.11r standard, also referred to as Fast BSS Transition or Fast Transition (FT). The thesis focuses on the implementation of this standard on devices manufactured by MikroTik and on the creation of a network topology used to test the behavior of five client devices with different operating systems during roaming between access points. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the roaming process and the duration of connection interruption during transitions between access points. In the final part, the measurement results are evaluated and the benefits of Fast Transition technology for improving the quality of network services in wireless networks are assessed.
