Abstract

Laboratory Task to Measure Radioactive Emissions is designed for students of biomedical engineering. Main purpose of this Bachelor thesis is to teach students basic principles of ionizing radiation. The theoretical part of the thesis aims to acquaint the reader with the issue of the origin of radioactivity and its effects on living organism. It describes various options of measurement modules of radioactivity. The practical part contains description of borrowed radiometers, designing of laboratory task for measurement of radioactive emissions, in which the natural source of radiation, radon concentration in rooms and artificial source of ionizing X-ray are measured.
