Determinanty mezd v České republice

Abstract

This thesis is focused on factors, which influence wages in the Czech Republic. After clarification of the role of the wage on labor market, there are outlined some theories explaining the differences in wages, followed by generally distinguished wage determinants. The middle chapter deals with empiricism of observation of factors affecting wages and therefore contains the results of selected studies that examine this issue with a different focus. It also includes a summary of the findings and comparison of the influence of personality characteristics on wages. The last chapter deals with the analysis of wage determinants in the Czech Republic carried out by using data from the Average Earnings Information System. There is also a characteristic of the data file. The chapter concludes with interpretation of the results of regression analysis, i.e. the influence of each variable, which was included in the Mincer earnings function, on wages with a focus on personal characteristics.
