Hodnocení efektivnosti na evropském energetickém trhu

Abstract

The aim of this master's thesis is to evaluate the efficiency of individual member states of the European Union in the European energy market. This problem is addressed using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) models on quantitative data from observed countries, which describe their energy consumption, labor input into industry, industrial production development, renewable resource utilization, and emission production. The calculations are conducted using the GAMS program. The first part of the thesis covers the theory related to the structure, trends, and functioning of the European energy market. Subsequently, the methodology and principles of DEA models are described, including the specification of a specific model for the empirical part. In the final section, the specified model is applied to selected data, and the results are analyzed to identify inefficient countries. The last part focuses on proposing improvements to enhance their efficiency levels.
