Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design, implementation, and testing of tools for influencing routing in computer networks under laboratory conditions using Cisco and Huawei routers. The theoretical part describes the fundamental principles of the OSPF and BGP routing protocols and discusses selected tools for routing control, namely route-maps, prefix-lists, distribute-lists, offset-lists, and access control lists. The practical part is focused on the design of a laboratory topology and the implementation of selected tools on real devices. Test scenarios were created to verify their functionality and to analyze their impact on routing tables and path selection. In the practical part, prefix-lists, distribute-lists in combination with access control lists, and route-maps were implemented. The thesis also includes a comparison of the implementation of these tools on Cisco and Huawei devices, including the identification of differences in configuration. The results show that these tools enable effective control of routing information propagation and influence route selection in the network, while also confirming the existence of differences between vendors that must be considered in network design and management.
