Abstract

This paper gives an overview about the possibilities of injecting hydrocarbon fuels into blast furnace tuyeres. As a substitute for metallurgical coke can be used quite a wide range of hydrocarbon fuels. Injection rate of hydrogenous fuels is limited.. But injection especially unconventional alternative fuels is primarily properly determinationthe extent of which substitute fuel can substitute for coke in the performance of its functions in the blast furnace or in the production of iron generally. Bachelor's thesis describes the various types of alternative fuels, defines their advantages and disadvantages. It provides an analysis of pulverized coal injection technology, especially for Czech metallurgical companies.
