Abstract
This thesis is about making a model of an electrical separator to serve as a teaching aid for demonstrating electrical separation. The thesis provides the necessary theoretical introduction to electrical separations, explains the basic principles that separations use and how these principles are used in practice.
The second part describes the actual fabrication and final construction of the model, the experimental search for a suitable source for the model, the measurement of the voltammetric characteristics of the model, and also a comparison of the different designs. Also, some theoretical assumptions from high voltage engineering have been verified by measurements.
As this is only a model to show that such a method of removing unwanted substances is possible, design based on complex calculations was abandoned, but the model was built using available resources on the basis of the basic principles of electrostatic precipitation.
