Abstract
Durability of wood as a material of organic origin is determined by factors that cause changes in the structure, physical, mechanical and technological properties. Wood humidity is the main determinant of durability. Methods of protection are two types of wood and natural wood protection and chemical protection of wood. Compliance with construction principles for building design and selection of naturally durable wood construction protection realize wood. If the natural durability of wood is not sufficient, we select combination of chemical preparations. When using chemical protection must be based on risk factors, location, type of pest you want to protect the wood protection, the ecological effects and financial requirements.
The effective protection of wood against wood damage biocorrosion and fungi is hydrophobization wood with hydrophobizators. In my thesis I have tried an experiment on effect of these materials in an artificial climate environment, the measurement of volume changes of spruce wood.
