Abstract

The thesis is focused on evaluation of geostatistical methods of modelling geological objects by available software. The Dubňany Seam in Rohatec – Bzenec – Strážnice part of the South Moravian Lignite Coalfield was modelled as example. In the thesis, specific problems associated with geological data analysis are described first. In introduction to linear geostatistics, theoretical principles of the methods are explained. Next chapter defines term geological object and methods of its modelling. Individual part of the thesis is dedicated to main aspects of coal deposit modelling. Geostatistical methods were applied to modelling of chosen attributes of the Dubňany Seam in Rohatec – Bzenec – Strážnice area in the South Moravian Lignite Coalfield. For that reason part of the thesis is dedicated to geological description of this area. In the main part of thesis, geostatistical methods for modelling of chosen parameters of lignite deposit with application of Surfer v.8 and ArcGIS Geostatistical analyst software are suggested. Obtained results were compared and on this basis used software was rated.
