dc.description.abstract-enThe statistical analysis of microstructure parameters makes possible, under using of the void growth model in stres-strain field, to determine the probability of void coalescence in the front of blunted crack tip. The probability density depends on the spatial and size distribution of precipitated carbides on which the voids are nucleated. The application of the presented model for the evaluation of low-carbon Nb microalloyed steel proved that the probability of void coalescence declines sharply as the parameter of distance from the crack tip, x/δ, increases. At an x/δ value of about 1.7 the probability of void coalescence diminishes practically to zero. The given solution represents a theoretical base for the statistical analysis of ductile failure and for the upper shelf prediction of fracture toughness values of structural steels.en
