Abstract
This thesis focuses on the development of a device for measuring stump movement in the prosthetic
bed in order to detect unwanted movement (pistoning). The proposed system uses VCNL4020
sensors and ESP32 microcontroller for data acquisition and wireless transmission. Custom firmware
and software were developed to record and visualize the measurements. The detected events were
compared with manually marked times from video recordings. Statistical analysis showed the high
accuracy of the system, with time variations being negligible from a practical point of view. The
results confirm the applicability of the system in the field of prosthetics and rehabilitation.
