Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of floods and their impacts on water management infrastructure in Ostrava. The theoretical part summarizes the legislative framework and flood planning in the Czech Republic, including the specific conditions of the city of Ostrava. The practical part focuses on the floods of 1997 and 2024, with a detailed analysis of the recovery process of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ostrava after the 2024 flood, the gradual restoration of individual technologies, and the wastewater quality results during this process.
