Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and subsequent utilization of the metallurgical dust, which are produced as a by-product during production of steel and iron. The first part of the thesis briefly describes the company ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s., and substances arising during metallurgical production, which negatively affects the environment. The first part also describes the technology of the suction digger. The main topic of the practical part is the analysis of the dust samples. The first analysis revealed the exact representation of the elements found in the samples of the dust and the second specific analysis determined the specific surface area of these samples. The last task was to measure the specific gravity of the both dust. Part of the practical part is also a description of the fabric filter and the electrofilter, from where the dust comes from and its subsequent use.
