Abstract
The subject of this diploma thesis is to investigate the influence of barriers on the infiltration of hazardous elements from the environment, especially alkalis, into the structure of concrete and the associated increased risk of alkali – silica reaction. The application of secondary protection means reduces the permeability of concrete to water, but also the penetration of undesirable substances into the concrete structures. The secondary protection agents used are based on linseed oils and varnishes, waterglass and in the form of crystallization coatings. The theoretical part deals with technology of concrete pavement, ASR and barriers applied to concrete. The experimental part describes the preparation of test samples, the composition of concrete, evaluation of laboratory tests and comparison of the properties of individual means of secondary protection.
