Abstract

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to determine the impact of the family and home environment on further education, the perception of school, and personality development. Semi-structured interviews were used as the main research method. Two families were chosen as a research sample – a family of four members with university educated parents, and a family of five members where parents achieved secondary education without graduation. The influence of the family and social environment on personality development and the education paths of offspring was confirmed in both families. However, some of the results of my work vary from theory in regards to passing education status from generation to generation.
