Abstract
The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify the castability of copper alloys on a test body, to characterize the production process of plaster moulds and to determine the optimum conditions for casting the alloys in order to obtain relevant results.
The theoretical part describes the investment casting method, its accuracy, the various factors affecting the applicability of the technology and the general principles that must be observed when using this technology. It further breaks down the different investment casting technologies, from a general description, to their use, to their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, it focuses on the factors affecting the castability of the alloys and on the tests of castability.
The practical part deals with the whole production process of wax models and plaster moulds. It then describes melting and casting. At the end there is an evaluation of the individual measurements.
