Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the quantification of permeability reduction of reservoir rocks due to the interaction of supercritical CO2 with formation fluids, especially with oil. Introductory chapters deal with the CO2 EOR methods for better understanding of undergoing processes. The permeability reduction observed during proposed experimental procedure is dependent on the oil and rock properties, which are summarized in chapter 3. The proposed laboratory procedure was found suitable for quantifying the effects of permeability reduction due to the plugging of the smallest pore spaces due to the precipitation of asphaltenes.
