Skupina Světové banky a její role při řešení globální finanční krize

Abstract

The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of measures, adopted by the World Bank Group in addressing the global financial crisis in developing economies. The operational objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of particular assistance of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Hungary, Latvia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. In the beginning of the thesis is first introduced by the World Bank Group's operations and its relationship with the European Union, further attention is paid to the origin and evolution of the global financial crisis and its impact on developing economies. In the fourth chapter of the thesis deals with the evaluation measures, which the World Bank Group has adopted in dealing with the crisis in developing economies, while it focuses on the evaluation of the effectiveness of particular assistance of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in four selected countries. The results of my research is not possible to determine whether the economic recovery in selected countries was caused only by the Bank. It can´t therefore clearly evaluate the effectiveness of the assistance.
