Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to propose improvements to two nearby intersections near the VŠB
TUO University Hall in Ostrava Poruba (i.e., the intersections of 17. listopadu - Hlavní třída
and 17. listopadu - Dr. Slabihoudka). The first part of the thesis describes the analyzed
intersections. The second part focuses on traffic surveys, traffic accidents, conflict situations,
and capacity calculations. In the next section, proposals for traffic signal systems and
construction modifications are presented. These proposals are verified using swept path
analysis in AutoCAD Civil 3D and simulated in the PTV VISSIM program, including statistical
evaluations. In the conclusion, individual solutions, including the current state, are evaluated
using multi-criteria analysis.
