Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis and optimization of ductile iron production in UNEX Slévárna s.r.o. The work describes a method of production of small, machine-formed castings, and the associated issue of ensuring the required parameters of the microstructure and mechanical properties of ductile iron, with a longer casting time of a larger number of molds. The work is mainly focused on the solution of metallurgical processing of cast iron by eliminating the decrease of the modification and inoculation effect in the production of ductile iron in real time. To document the current and optimized state, test samples were taken and analyzed by metallographic and spectrometric analyzes. Optimized metallurgical processing parameters were introduced into the production of ductile iron castings.
