Abstract
Nickel alloys are mainly used due to the excellent mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures and good resistance to environmental conditions. In the theoretical part, the issues of nickel alloys with a focus on basic characteristics and classification of nickel alloys, nickel-based superalloys application areas, possible technology for the preparation of these alloys and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. The practical part deals with the evaluation of structural and mechanical characteristics of experimental nickel-based alloys which have been melted by vacuum induction melting, centrifugally cast into a graphite mold and some samples were subjected to hot isostatic pressing (HIP). Samples were used for evaluation of creep characteristics. Further were determined microhardness, porosity and structural characteristics both in the as-cast state and the state after HIP.
