Hlavní ekologické problémy Ostravského regionu

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with environmental problems of the Ostrava region. In the introduction, there is a short geographical and socioeconomic characteristic of the Moravian-Silesian region. The work itself consists of four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the history of Ostrava especially in terms of industrial development, and related environmental problems. The second chapter is devoted to the main environmental problems of the Ostrava region – air pollution, water quality, waste, transport and old environmental loads. The third chapter focuses on the role of the state in the solving of environmental problems of the Ostrava region – environmental policy, environmental policy instruments and specific measures applied to the region of interest. The fourth chapter of the work assesses the current state of the Ostrava environment (weaknesses, strengths, opportunities, threats) and outlines, what ways will be used to care for the environment of the Ostrava region in the near future.
